Recently, a netizen in Feidong, Hefei, Anhui Province, posted false content on a short-video platform claiming that an “earthquake occurred in Feidong.” The fabricated information quickly spread, disrupted social order, and caused public panic, leading to negative social impact.

In addition, another account posted online claiming that an “earthquake had occurred in Nanle, Puyang.” Upon verification, these reports were confirmed to be untrue.

The local public security authorities have taken legal action against the individuals responsible for spreading such false information.
