Magnitude 3.3 Earthquake Strikes Feidong County, Hefei

According to official measurements from the China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC), a magnitude 3.3 earthquake struck Feidong County, Hefei City, Anhui Province at 8:25 a.m. on November 7.

The quake’s epicenter was located at latitude 31.97°N and longitude 117.60°E, with a focal depth of 10 kilometers. The average elevation within a 5-kilometer radius of the epicenter is about 34 meters.

Based on CENC’s rapid report catalog, there have been 18 earthquakes of magnitude 3.0 or higher within 200 kilometers of the epicenter over the past five years. The strongest among them was a magnitude 4.7 earthquake that occurred on September 18, 2024, also in Feidong County, just 1 kilometer away from today’s epicenter.
